The Paragraph and List content blocks are specialized tools designed to meet distinct text formatting requirements. The Paragraph content block is optimized for long-form text, offering greater control over paragraph styles and spacing. The List content block provides an efficient way to create and manage ordered or unordered lists, complete with customizable styles and spacing options.
How to Use the Paragraph Content Block
- Inserting: Drag the Paragraph content block from the Content tab into your layout.
- Customization: In the sidebar, options are available to set font family, weight, size (in pixels: eg 16px = 12pt), text & link colors, alignment, text direction, letter & paragraph spacing, & text direction.
- Block options are available to set padding, & choose to hide on mobile or desktop:
How to Use the List Content Block
- Inserting: Drag the List content block into your layout.
- Customization: Use the sidebar for setting the font, color, alignment, line height, letter spacing, text direction, & Block options similar to the Paragraph content block.
Additional List Features
- List type: Choose between an ordered (numbered) or unordered (bulleted) list.
- List style type: Customize the style of bullets or numbers.
- Start list from: This option becomes available when you select an ordered list, allowing you to specify the starting number.
- List item spacing and indent: Fine-tune the spacing between each list item & the amount of indentation.
Popup Formatting Options
When a Title, Paragraph, Button, List, Table, or AI Create block is selected, popup options are available:
Standard options for selected text are:
- Bold
- Italic
- Underline
- Strikethrough
- Text color
- Text background color
- Superscript
- Subscript
- Clear formatting
Insert options are:
- Special characters
- Emoticons
- Nonbreaking space
Click to minimize the popup options in a Paragraph, List, Table, or AI Create block.
Insert/edit Links
- Choose the Link Type from the dropdown: URL, email, tel, or SMS, & then enter the link's details.
- This option is not available in a Button block.
- Remove link is available in the popup options when your cursor is on an existing link.
Mailto Example
To add a mailto link:
- Highlight the text you want to be the link (which can be in a button, list, paragraph, table, etc.) & from the popup options, click Insert/edit
- Select the Link Type E-MAIL from the dropdown & enter the Email address, Subject & Message.
- Enter the other link details & click OK, for example:
When the link is clicked, the recipient's email client will open a new email to send with the above content, for example:
Asset Links
Link to:
- Landing Page: A core tenet of Act-On to engage contacts from your email campaigns.
- Media file: Choose from the Act-On media library for recipients to download.
- Opt-out: Choose from a standard opt-out link, subscription preferences, or unsubscribe only.
- View in browser: Allow recipients to see the email in their browser. This is a useful fallback for email clients with limited HTML rendering.
This option is not available in a Button block.
