Most people receive and view their email messages in an HTML format, however, there are still email clients and mail servers configured to accept only plain text content.
When a message is sent from Act-On, two versions are sent within the same message: an HTML version and a plain text version. The recipient's email client will render either the HTML or plain text versions based on their preferences.
To view & edit the plain text version of an HTML email:
- Open the email or email template you want in the new Email Composer (see Email Composer User Guide).
- At the top right, click Preview or Preview template.
- At the bottom left, toggle on Plain text:
- To edit the plain text version, click Edit plain text. There are options for personalization and opt-out links.
Saving your manual edits will prevent Act-On from automatically keeping this email's plain text version up-to-date and in sync with your HTML version.
To revert back, when editing, click Regenerate from HTML:
