Delete or Archive a Segment - Act-On Contacts

Sometimes you need to remove a segment from Act-On. Depending on your goals, you may wish to delete the segment or archive it for later access. Read on for instructions to do this for your Act-On Contacts.

Some system-generated segments, such as All Act-On Contacts and other CRM-related segments, cannot be deleted.

Delete a Segment

Deleting a segment will permanently remove the segment definition, but will not remove the contacts. However, all child segments will also be deleted.

  1. Navigate to Contacts > All Contacts > Folders.
  2. Hover over the segment name.
  3. Click More Options  
  4. Select Delete Segment.
  5. Click Confirm.

Delete Multiple Segments

  1. Navigate to Contacts > All Contacts > Folders.
  2. Use the checkbox to the left of each segment to select the ones you wish to delete.
  3. Hover over and click More Options   from the blue menu bar located at the top of the Folder window.
  4. Click Delete Segment.
  5. Click Confirm.

Archive a Segment (Coming Soon)

Archiving a segment will disable it, so you won’t be able to pick it for use in email, automated programs, or other areas of Act-On, however, it will preserve the definition for future restoration, if needed.
