Removing a random character in sender email address

Per the screenshots below, does anyone know how to get rid of that random period? It doesn't show in the email document and there's no way to retype an email address to see if it will correct itself. These little things bug me. Makes it look like we lack attention to detail. Advice appreciated.

  Hello,

  It looks like you are running up against Gmail's 20 character limit and they are truncating the name. You would need to shorten the name of this user to avoid the dot at the end of the sender name.
