Managing Opt-In Cookie Options and Disabling Beacon Tracking
When your customers and prospects visit your Act-On landing pages and forms, or any web pages containing the Act-On Beacon Tracker, they will be asked via a pop-up message if a cookie may be placed on their browser. If they consent, an opt-in cookie will be placed and they will not be asked again.

    Subject: Is it a cookie?

    Greetings,

I have a question about how Act-On receives data in 'open reports'.

When looking at 'open reports' you can see the users' IP address, geolocation data, browser, operating system, etc.  I need to know exactly how this data is collected.  Is it a cookie placed on the user's browser when they open an email?  Can someone please explain this to me?  I also need to know…is there a cookie name/designation?  And, is the cookie provider us?  Or Act-On?

    Thanks

    Danyelle
