change separator for Export in CSV/Excel

Arie den Draak
Hi there!
I 'd need to export my contacts from the marketing list. I prefer to export as Excel, but the file is generated in CSV.
Yes I know, CSV can be converted to Excel.

The point is that CSV is separated by a dash ',' In some text fields is this a part of the text. Therefore my Excel sheet is messed.
  • How can I create a readable Excel file instead of CSV? (If Excel-format is selected the can only be saved als CSV)
  • (Alternative) How can I predefine another separator in ActOn for Export purposes?
Thank you very much!

    Hi @Arie den Draak,

    Are you referring to Marketing lists that you want to export?

    If so, you should be able to click the drop-down arrow next to the list > Import/Export > Download to Excel - this will generate a .xls file for you.

    I hope this helps.

    Have a great day and Happy Marketing!

    @Robert Kohnke,

    For us, for a long time, the 'Export to Excel' function always exported CSV files too. I checked it today and it indeed exports an .xls file now. Was this fixed recently?
