Image as outer background color

I've come across a couple of community threads here about background images used within a rich text/dynamic content block, but I haven't come across a way to make the full outer background for the email an image. Guessing there's a way to include this using stationary? Anyone have any experience/thoughts? Perhaps I missed an article/community post that explains this...
