API Removes Contacts from Opt-Out List
In instances where a contact opts in to a new subscription category following a previous global opt-out, a new API endpoint is available to assist with the following:
- Update the Opt-Out List with new opted-in contacts, removing them from the Opt-Out List.
The URL of the endpoint is:
PUT https://restapi.actonsoftware.com/api/1/list/optin
Further API documentation can be found here on Act-On's Developer site.
This API is helpful if you have an external (third-party) site hosting user preferences for subscription management. If a contact opts out from emails globally but later comes back and opts in to a subscription category through your external site, this API can sync that changed setting with Act-On, updating the Opt-Out List with the contact’s new opt-in and removing their opt-out status.
This feature will be in beta behind a controlled feature for 3 months. You may email Beki Fuller at beki.fuller@act-on.com to request access to the API endpoint.
If you do not have access to Act-On's APIs and would like to, visit Act-On's Developer site for more information, then complete and submit this form.
Customer remains bound by the terms within the Services Agreement, including the Acceptable Use Policy.
