Act-On Contacts Beta: Managing Bounces & Opt-Outs, Using Data Studio
0 Votes
Act-On Contacts is a major initiative to consolidate marketing lists into a single All Contacts list. We are now in beta on this initiative. Learn More and Participate.
We've got some new features available for Act-On Contacts users.
Contact Preferences
The left panel of the All Contacts page now includes a Contact Preferences filter. This shows system-generated segments of All Contacts lists for Opt Outs, Spam Complaints, Hard Bounces, Soft Bounces, Inactive Soft Bounces, SMS Opt Ins, SMS Opt Outs.

Clicking on any of the segments shows the list of contacts. In addition to the normal contact data fields, these segments also show data specific to the opt out or bounce event. From here you can take certain actions such as removing an opt out, changing a soft bounce to hard bounce and vice versa.

All Opt-Out and Bounce data is synced up with Marketing Lists, so any change made to a contact here will impact that contact system-wide. However these lists only show you contacts from the All Contacts list, so they may not include all marketing list contacts.
Import Bounce / Opt Out Data
An opt-outs or bounces can now be set when importing contacts.

Contact Settings
The new Contact Settings screen (Settings > Other Settings > Contact Settings) lets Act-On contacts users configure certain preferences that were previously on the Other Lists > Bounces & Opt Outs screens. These include:
- Inactive Soft Bounce limit
- Email Suppression Domains
- Fatigue Suppression Rules
These settings will reflect any settings already set up and changes made here will take place system-wide (i.e. for marketing lists and Act-On Contacts). Eventually the "Other Lists > Bounces" screens will be retired.

Data Studio
For users of Act-On's Data Studio reporting suite, the new list picker in Data Studio allows you to pick multiple lists or segments (combining Act-On Contacts with Marketing Lists) when creating an export of contact data.
