Extension Lists - updating with blank values

We are using extension lists to personalize our sales reps in the footers. Right now extension lists don't have the ability like all the other lists to update with blank fields. If we have a sales rep leave the company, we typically download the list, remove that rep and upload but it is not updating this field. I would love this feature added. Thank you!
