Direct marketing i understand. Being a client also. Other examples are risk assessment, checking children's age, processing data to afford individuals rights. But in the article from econsultancy the also gives interesting other examples.
The article you mention is confusing because it gives your the feeling the you as a marketeer can use legitimate interest. It is true but the cases a rare and you have to have a sloid case why you should not have to ask for consent: a legitimate interest 'must be real and not too vague'.
What is your feeling about the legitimate interest and the use of marketing automation?
