German Salutation

Hey guys

This is something I have been advising our German speaking customers/clients to do in order to use Salutation when communicating in German.

So in German you need to say -

  • Sehr geehrte Frau
  • Sehr geehrter Herr

First Solutions

Sehr geehrte/-r {{Salutation}} {{Last Name}}

Second Solution

We create a column in your list and call it Salutationphrase, and populate that column with Sehr geehre Frau or Sehr Geerter Herr, depending on the gender using Segmentation and List Maintenance Program, see example below.

So the formula would look like that:

{{={{Salutationphrase}}|Sehr geehrte Frau/sehr geehrter Herr}} {{Lastname}}

So if the column Salutationphrase is completed it will say Sehr geehre Frau Lea, but if by any chance we do not have the original gender know to us it would say Sehr geehrte Frau/sehr geehrter Herr Lea – for example.
