Do Submissions carry over when converting Classic Forms?

Julia Helgert
I'm considering converting our Classic Forms to the newer form composer, but I don't want to lose our previous submissions.

On the Classic Form Conversion instructions: https://university.act-on.com/Product_Features/Content/Forms/Forms_Overview/Classic_Form_Conversion it says the following are not converted:
  • External Web Analytics
  • Stationery
  • Logo
  • Fixed-width / Adaptive-width
  • SEO
  • File Upload block
  • CSS
  • Javascript

Does anyone know if External Web Analytics are submissions? Or if submissions are indeed carried over? Thank you in advance!
Julia

    Hi Julia,

Submissions are carried over. You won't lose your previous submissions when converting a classic form to the new form format. When you convert the form, it automatically selects the submission list from classic form. Any new submissions will be added to the old list (or updated, depending on your settings). The only way you would end up with two separate submission lists is if you removed the list and created a new one. Even then, you won't lose the submission data, it will be in the old form list. You can make a list maintenance program that copies all records from the old submission list to the new submission list if something like that happens. You can also detach the newly created form submission list and find the submission list from your classic form and select it, and it will fix that issue.

External Web Analytics aren't submissions so you're fine on that. It's referring to a tracking service such as Google Analytics. I don't see an area to integrate Google Analytics with the new form builder, which I'd think they'd have...

    Hope that helped.
