SEO & Social Share Settings

  • Updated

The SEO & Social Share panel in the Landing Page Composer shows how your Landing Page will appear in search results and on social media. It also indicates whether the page is currently visible to search engines.

Quick Reference (Advanced Users) – Click to Expand
  • Page Visibility: Toggle indexing on or off for search engines.
  • Page Title: Required; up to 55 characters.
  • Description: Optional; up to 150 characters.
  • Social Share Image: Defines the image used in social previews.
  • Open Graph (OG) and Twitter tags are generated automatically.

Try it like this:

Use a concise title (for example, “Download the 2025 Industry Report”) and add a short description that highlights the value of your page. Then upload a 1200×630 social share image to ensure clean previews across both Facebook and LinkedIn.

Page Visibility

If you do not want a Landing Page to appear in search results, toggle Page visibility off. This adds the following meta tag, which tells search engines not to index or follow the page:

<META NAME="ROBOTS" CONTENT="NOINDEX, NOFOLLOW">

Landing Pages in Search Results

For a Landing Page to appear in search engines, it must first be indexed. Your website or marketing content must link to the page so web crawlers can find it after publishing.

If you use a Custom Marketing Domain , your Landing Pages will appear under your branded URL. Your web administrator can manage indexing by creating a sitemap, updating robots.txt, and using SEO tools such as Google Search Console.

Without a custom marketing domain, pages may show in results under actonsoftware.com. Act-On does not create or submit sitemaps, and crawler activity does not affect engagement reporting.
