The Button content block lets you add clear, visually appealing calls to action to your designs. Buttons can be fully customized and personalized, making them ideal for driving clicks, directing recipients to key pages, and prompting actions such as sign-ups, downloads, or purchases.

- Insert: Drag the Button block from the Content tab.
- Edit Text: Click directly to type; supports inline formatting.
- Actions: Link to URLs, media files, landing pages, phone numbers, mailto, or internal page anchors.
- Formatting: Customize colors, fonts, width, line height, border radius, and padding.
- Visibility: Optional hide/show on mobile or desktop.
Try it like this: Add a button below your hero section, type “Register Now”, set it to full-width on mobile, and link it to a landing page or downloadable asset using Asset Links.
How to Use the Button Content Block
- Drag the Button block from the Content tab into your layout. Use the sidebar to customize text, action, width, styling, and spacing.
Button Text
- Click directly inside the button to type your text. You can personalize the text and format it just like text in a Paragraph block. Popup formatting options are available when text is selected.
Button Action
In the sidebar, choose what happens when a recipient clicks the button using the Link type dropdown:

Open web page
- Enter a destination URL.
- Click Link file to select from your Act-On image & logo library.
- Choose Asset Links to link to:
- A Landing Page
- A media file from your Act-On media library
- A Classic Form (Email only)
- An opt-out or subscription preferences link (Email only)
- A “view in browser” link (Email only) - Target (Landing Pages only): Choose whether the link opens in a new tab or stays on the current page.
- Send email - Opens the user’s email client with your pre-filled recipient, subject, and message.
- Make call - Opens the phone dialer with your chosen number (ideal for support or sales CTAs).
Button Formatting
Use the sidebar’s Button options to control:
- Auto width - button automatically sizes to its text
- Font: family, weight, size
- Background color & text color
- Alignment (left, center, right)
- Line height & letter spacing
- Reversed text direction (RTL)
- Border radius - make square, rounded, or pill-shaped buttons
- Content padding - space inside the button
- Border - color, width, and style
Additional Block options let you configure:
- Padding around the button
