Set up your image library and media library to easily use your marketing assets in your content. Once you add content, you can promote it through social media, your website, emails, and landing pages.

Add Images to the Image Library

Add Files to the Media Library

File downloads are a great way to provide value to your prospects. You can also track who downloads your content. This is most commonly done with PDFs, but other file formats will work as well.

Allowed Media File Types

.css .doc .docx .dwg .htm .HTML
.ics .js .pdf .pps .ppsx .ppt
.pptx .rfa .txt .vcs .xls .xlsx
.zip

Blocked File Types

.bat .com .exe .pif .vbs

Upload a Single File

  1. Go to Content > Media Library and click the Actions button.
  2. Choose Upload Media Files.
  3. Click Choose File and select the file you want to upload.
  4. Choose a folder for the file to go into, and add a name (optional).

  2. Save that folder into a .zip file.
  3. Go to Content > Media Library and click the Actions button.
  4. Choose Upload Media Files.
  5. Click Choose File and select the .zip file containing your media files.

Zip File Upload

By default, Act-On will unzip a .zip file and add all contained files to your library.

If you would like a file to stay in .zip format, add the .zip file to a folder and then save that folder as .zip before uploading it.

Create Redirect URLs for External Media and other links

In addition to storing files inside your Act-On account, you can also add links to files or content that is hosted elsewhere. Act-On can create a redirect URL to redirect to anywhere on the web. These media links can be tracked for clicks & views just like any of your Act-On content.

Clicks are tracked on the redirect link & are not tracked on the destination website URL.
Example: A redirect URL redirecturl.com takes users to yoursale.com. We can only show & report details for the actions that occur at redirecturl.com. If somebody visits yoursale.com via Google, a link in an email, etc. this shows as a page visit for that URL in the website prospector only.

To add a media link:

  1. Go to Content > Media Library and click the Actions button.
  2. Choose Add Media Link.
  3. Add the full URL for the redirect.
  4. Add a name for your internal reference and choose a folder within your Media Library.
  5. Click Submit.

Using Your Media Files

There are image/media file pickers in many of Act-On's text editors where you can quickly choose a file to embed in a message or page. You can also get the URL for any file to use anywhere you'd like:

  1. From your Image Library or Media Library, click the dropdown beside a file and select Public Content URL.
  2. Copy that URL and use it to link to the file from any location, such as your corporate website.
