Sending a Text-Only Email Message

  • Updated

Sometimes a plain, text-only email is the right call - no HTML, no design, just your message. Act-On lets you send this format directly, and it also automatically builds a text-only fallback any time you send an HTML message, so older email programs that can't render rich text still get something readable. This combined format is commonly called a multipart message.

Why this matters: Just weigh the trade-off first: message opens cannot be tracked in text-only emails.

To create an email that includes only a text version without any HTML, click Outbound > New Message and select the option for Plain Text Message. Please note that message opens cannot be tracked in text-only emails.

The New Message menu under Outbound, showing the Plain Text Message option.

You can then write or paste your message copy into the email editor.
