Act-On's SEO Audit checks whether your web pages and posts follow Google's indexing guidelines, and hands back a report with the specific changes to make - page title, URL, description, H1 headings, body content, and more.
Quick Reference (Advanced Users)
- Start audits at Inbound > SEO Audit > SEO Audit Web Pages / Landing Pages / Forms.
- Add or change keywords for an existing audit from its Report view, then Save Keyword Selection.
- Re-audit after edits from the same Report view.
- Organize audits into folders, and delete old reports from the same section.
Create an SEO Audit for a Web Page
- Click on Inbound > SEO Audit > SEO Audit Web Pages.
- Click New SEO Audit.
- Enter the URL (beginning with 'HTTP://'), or click the drop-down arrow to select a web page that is being tracked by the Beacon Tracking code.
- Enter an Audit Report Name.
- Enter a Keyword or Keyword Phrase to audit.
- Click the drop-down to select a Folder to store your audit.
- Click Add.
A new tab will open that contains your SEO Audit Report and score:
Once the web page is added you can hover over it to delete it, re-audit it, move it to another folder within the page, or view the report.
Add SEO Keywords to Audit Your Web Pages
- Hover over the audit, click the down arrow and select Report:
- In Select Keywords for Analysis dialog, click the checkbox next to any additional keywords you wish to audit. You can also enter a new keyword next to Add keywords to this list and click Add.
- Click Save Keyword Selection and your SEO Audit Report will automatically update.
Add SEO Keywords to Audit Your Landing Pages
- Click on Inbound > SEO Audit > SEO Audit Landing Pages.
- Hover over the Landing Page, click the down arrow, and select Report.
- In Select Keywords for Analysis dialog, click the checkbox next to the keyword you wish to audit or enter a keyword in the Add Keywords to this list field, and click Add.
- Once you've added the keywords, click Save Keyword Selection and your SEO Audit Report will update automatically.
Edit Your Landing Page and Re-audit
- Make updates to your landing page, save, and return to the SEO Audit section.
- Your SEO Audit Report will automatically update your score based on the changes you've made.
Add SEO Keywords to Audit Your Forms
- Click on Inbound > SEO Audit > SEO Audit Forms.
- Open the folders that contain your forms.
- Hover over the Form, click the down arrow, and select Report.
- In Select Keywords for Analysis dialog, click the checkbox next to the keyword(s) you wish to audit or enter a keyword in the Add Keywords to this list field, and click Add.
- Click Save Keyword Selection.
Once the Audit is complete, edit your forms (focusing on the SEO section) and conduct a re-audit.
- Navigate back to Inbound > SEO Audit > SEO Audit Forms
- Hover over the Form, click the down arrow, and select Report.
- Click Re-Audit.
Organizing Your Audit Reports
To create folders for your SEO Audit Reports:
- Navigate to Inbound > SEO Audit > SEO Audit Web Pages/Landing Pages/Forms.
- Hover over the folder names and click Manage:
- In the screen that appears, you can add, remove, and rename your folders.
To clear old, unused reports from your SEO Audit view:
- Navigate to Inbound > SEO Audit > SEO Audit Web Pages/Landing Pages/Forms.
- Hover over any report and click the green dropdown arrow.
- Choose Delete.
Related to
