How to Send Emails to Subscription Categories

Use Subscription Management to let contacts opt in or out of specific email categories. Once you have enough subscribed contacts in a category, you can begin sending targeted messages based on those preferences.

If you have not set up Subscription Management yet, follow How to Set Up Subscription Management first.

Choose a Subscription Category

  1. Open the email or email template you want to use, or create a new one in the Email Composer.
  2. In the Settings tab, find Communication Type and select a Subscription category.

How Subscription Categories Affect Sending

The message is sent only to contacts who have subscribed to the selected category. Anyone not subscribed will be suppressed automatically. In the email report, these contacts appear under Suppressed with the reason Not Subscribed.
