Global BCC - Controlled Feature

The Global BCC feature is a compliance-focused product setting that can be enabled upon request. When enabled, a blind copy of every message will be sent to a BCC email address. This results in one emailed copy of every single personalized message sent to that address.

Example: If you send one email to 10,000 people, you will receive 10,000 emails via BCC. If you send to 1,000,000 contacts, you will receive 1,000,000 emails.

Global BCC is important if your company needs records to audit for every email message ever sent, including personalized headers. FDIC-regulated companies are the primary audience that may benefit from this feature. By default, Act-On does not save copies of individualized messages. 

You must have a Compliance Management System set up (or a dedicated email that will accept all incoming emails without throttling) for this feature to work. Due to the high volume of emails received, a personal inbox will not work as a Global BCC address.

How to Enable

Global BCC is not a default feature. To enable this feature, please contact Support.

Once enabled, Act-On admins can enable the feature:

  1. Go to SettingsOther SettingsCustom Account SettingsSecurity & Policies tab.
  2. Under Global BCC policy, on the right click Edit:

  1. Enter the Email address to be BCCed on all messages - Only one email address can be entered.
  2. Click Save.
