Create a text-based navigation menu for your email design.
How to use the Menu Content Block
Drag the Menu Content Block from the Additional content area of the Content tab into your email design & select the Menu block to access Menu Properties in the sidebar.
Add Menu Items
Click +Add New Item for each menu item you want & set the following:
- Text: enter the text you want for the menu item

Link type: choose what you want to happen when the menu item is clicked.

Open web page. Choose from:
- Enter the destination URL.
If linking to an anchor in your email design, enter the anchor name prefixed with a hashtag (& no space). Make sure the name matches exactly. For example, for the anchor name "lorem", enter#lorem
- Click Link file & select from your Act-On image & logo library.
- Enter the destination URL.
- Send email. Enter the email address to send to, the subject, & body of the email.
- Make call. Enter the number to call, for example, a support line.
- Send SMS. Enter the number to send to & the message.

Open web page. Choose from:
- Target: from the drop-down, choose if you want clicking the menu item to stay on the same page or open a new page.
- Title: optionally add some popup text that appears when hovering over the menu item.
Click & drag to reorder the menu items.
Menu Formatting
Options are available in the sidebar to set the font (family, weight, & size), text & link color, alignment, letter spacing, layout (to make the menu a vertical list or horizontal with optional separators), menu items padding, & borders.
Block options are available to set padding for the menu block, and choose to hide on mobile or desktop.
Example Using a Menu with Anchor Links
A newsletter email with several sections has a menu so readers can quickly access the section they want.
- Add two anchors, each with an HTML Content Block, as explained here. In our example, the two anchors are named

& are the titles for each section. - Near the top of the email design, add a menu block containing a Menu Item for each section (as described above), for example:
- Format the menu how you want. Here we change the menu from horizontal & centered to be vertical & on the left:
