What's Changing
NetSuite is upgrading its authentication and security protocols. If you have Act-On's tools embedded in NetSuite, like the Act-On Dashboard and Hot Prospects Dashboard, you need to upgrade your integration so that your NetSuite can continue to retrieve data from Act-On.
Instructions for Updating
Before you start: You'll need to know the role(s) used for your sales seat users.
Upgrade your Act-On NetSuite integration bundle
- In NetSuite, navigate to Customization > SuiteBundler > Search & Install Bundles > List
- Click the gear wheel drop-down next to Act-On CRM Portal for NetSuite > Update
Enable the following features in NetSuite:
- Go to Setup > Company > Enable Features and click on the SuiteCloud subtab.
- Enable the features listed below & click Save when done.
- NetSuite as OIDC Provider
- Client SuiteScript
- Server SuiteScript
- OAuth 2.0
- REST Web Services
For any sales seat user role, add the following permissions:
- Go to Setup > Users/Roles > User Management > Manage Roles.
- Edit the role that is used for your sales seat users as follows:
- Under Permissions > Lists add "Employees" with level "View".
- Under Permissions > Setup add "Log in using OAuth 2.0 Access Tokens" with level "Full".
- Under Permissions > Setup add "REST Web Services" with level "Full".
- Save the role.
Configure the audience for the sales seat integration:
- Go to Setup > Integration > Manage Authentication > NetSuite as OIDC Provider Setup.
- Click on Act-On OIDC Integration Record (Production).
- Under Entities > Employees check the "Select All" checkbox.
- Under Roles, search for the role(s) used for your sales seat users, and add to the selected roles.
- Click Save.
When
The upgrade is available as of Jul 11, 2024 & should be implemented as soon as possible. NetSuite will begin cutting access for production accounts that are not upgraded potentially as soon as their 2024.2 release.
Customer Impact
This upgrade enables NetSuite sales users to continue to view Act-On data from within NetSuite. This does not impact the authentication that Act-On uses to pull/update contact data from NetSuite. If you do not upgrade the implementation, a future NetSuite release will cause the Act-On sales seat to be unable to display contact history data.
