Sync MS Dynamics Marketing Lists to Act-On Contacts

  • Updated

Microsoft Dynamics offers the ability to create Marketing Lists of leads or contacts. These can be static or dynamic and can offer additional segmentation capabilities using data that is in Dynamics but may not be in Act-On.

You can sync these lists from Dynamics to identify which contacts are on the list, creating a segment in Act-On that you can then email or nurture.

Add Segment from CRM

To sync a Dynamics list, choose Add segment from CRM from the menu at the top of the All Contacts screen:

From the next screen, choose Select Sources and select the Dynamics static or dynamic contact or lead list(s) you wish to sync:

Create a new direct select segment to identify the contacts that belong to this list, or select an existing parent-level direct select segment.

Check the Keep this segment in sync with CRM box if you wish to continuously update this segment as the list changes (for dynamic lists). If you don't check this box, you can sync on demand.

Click Create Segment at the top of the screen to complete your sync. Sync later will add the contacts to the segment at your next regularly scheduled CRM sync. Sync now will do so within the next few minutes.

Once you've set up the sync, the CRM-sourced segments will appear under the CRM Sourced filter on the All Contacts page:

Each segment's info hover card will give you details about the Dynamics list it is syncing from and allow you to sync on demand if it is not configured to stay in sync automatically:
