Syncing your Act-On Behavior Score to MS Dynamics

  • Updated

Synchronize the Act-On Behavior Score (or Lead Score) with your MS Dynamics account to help your sales team identify active opportunities by how your leads and contacts interact with your Act-On marketing efforts.

This article refers to syncing the lead score when using Marketing Lists. If you are syncing with All Contacts, the lead score is mapped within Data Management settings and will sync automatically. Please see this article for more details. Synchronizing Microsoft Dynamics Data to All Contacts.

 Prerequisites

Lead Scores should only be pushed to your CRM, never set your CRM list to pull the Behavior Score. This can cause a range of issues including incorrect scores and excessively long sync times.

Instructions

Set up a List Maintenance Program to update the Behavior Score

First, set up a List Maintenance Program that updates the Act-On Behavior Score for your Leads and Contacts. This will update the field value for all Leads/Contacts on the list. Instructions are provided here: Set up a List Maintenance Program

Note: Update the field Act-On Behavior Score

Set this program to run on a schedule so that it runs just before your list syncs to MS Dynamics to ensure up-to-date scores.

Next, ensure the Act-On Behavior Score field is pushing to MS Dynamics and your list is synching on schedule.

  8. Review the Scheduling:

    • Choose the frequency that you want the list sync to run.
      • We recommend that the List Sync runs just after the List Maintenance program (see above) so that the Act-On Behavior Score is up-to-date.
  9. Click Save.
  10. Repeat the above steps for your MS Dynamics All Contacts list.

The Act-On Behavior Score field will now be updated upon each list sync between Act-On and MS Dynamics.
