The Contact Report

  • Updated

The Contact Report is the full profile view for a single person in Act-On. It pulls profile details, engagement history, list membership, scoring, and CRM associations into one screen so you can see everything about a contact without hopping between lists and activity reports.

Who does this: Marketing ops reviewing engagement; sales or CS pulling context on a specific contact
Time needed: 5 minutes to orient; longer if you're investigating a specific question
Why this matters: When you're troubleshooting a lead, responding to a support ticket, or deciding whether to include someone in a campaign, you need a single place to see who they are and what they've done. The Contact Report is that place.
In plain English: Think of it as a contact's file - profile on the left, history and details in tabs across the top. Behaviour like opens and clicks is tied to the email address, so it's the same no matter which list you opened the contact from.
Quick Reference (Advanced Users) - Click to Expand
  • Access: open any contact from All Contacts, a Marketing List, or an Activity Report.
  • Profile panel: list variations, lead scores, and quick actions.
  • Summary: high-level behaviour counts and total lead score.
  • Timeline: filterable history of every tracked behaviour.
  • Scoring: breakdown for each active score sheet.
  • Membership: lists and segments containing the contact.
  • Info: editable field values from the selected list.
  • Association: read-only Salesforce-linked objects and fields.
Try it like this: Open a contact's Timeline tab, filter by Form Submissions, and see which pages and forms drove their recent engagement.

Open a Contact Report

You can open a Contact Report from anywhere a contact appears:

  • Any All Contacts segment
  • Any Marketing List or list segment
  • An Activity Report (for example, a Sent Message Report or Form Report)

Once the report is open, use the tabs across the top to review engagement, list membership, field values, and scoring details.

Profile

The left-side profile panel stays visible across all tabs and gives you quick context for the contact.

  • Name and Email: at the top, with actions in the nearby menu.
  • Current List: every list containing this email address. If a list has more than one record with the same address, it appears more than once so you can compare versions.
  • Current Score: the lead score from your default score sheet.
  • AI Predictive Score: appears here if enabled for your account.

The Actions menu next to the contact's name includes:

  • Print: print a single-tab view.
  • Send Message: open the Email Composer to send the contact an email.
  • Edit: jump to the Info tab to update fields.
  • Print All: print every tab plus all versions of the Info tab across lists. Useful for data-privacy information requests.
  • Delete Contact: removes the record from the current list only. For full deletion, use Erase Contact.
Note: Behaviour data like opens, clicks, form fills, and visits is tied to the email address. It's the same across every list that contains the contact.

Summary

The Summary tab is a high-level view of every behaviour recorded for the contact. Each card includes:

  • Total count for that behaviour type (emails opened, forms submitted, pages visited, etc.)
  • A shortcut to view related activity in the Timeline
  • Access to the Scorecard, where you can see how points were earned

Timeline

The Timeline tab is a chronological history of every tracked behaviour for the contact. Use the filter in the top-right corner to view specific activity types such as:

  • Emails opened or clicked
  • Form submissions
  • Page visits
  • Webinar or event activity
Note: Some activities, such as test sends, do not appear in the Timeline.

Timeline tab

Scoring

The Scoring tab shows the contact's score across every active score sheet. For each sheet you can see:

  • The total score
  • A breakdown of each qualifying behaviour
  • How many times the behaviour occurred
  • The point values assigned

Scoring tab

Membership

The Membership tab lists every list and segment containing this email address. Expand any list to see all its segments, or click a list or segment name to open it directly.

Membership tab

Info

The Info tab shows every field and value from the list you used to open the Contact Report. Click any field value to edit it, then save your changes.

If your account syncs with a CRM, edits here will be included in your next sync, depending on your sync direction and rules.

Info tab

Association

The Association tab appears if your account syncs with Salesforce. It lists related Salesforce objects such as:

  • Accounts
  • Opportunities
  • Campaigns

Select the Actions menu next to any object to view its fields. These fields are read-only so you can't accidentally change values in Salesforce from here.

If the contact is associated with an Account, you can open the Account Report from here for a combined view of every linked contact.
