Act-On CRM Portal for Dynamics (Legacy Unmanaged Solution) - Uninstall Guide

Instructions

  1. First, follow the steps here to identify the version of Act-On that you have currently installed in your Dynamics account.
  2. Use this form to Contact Support. We will provide you with the correct file(s) to uninstall the unmanaged version.
  3. Follow the instructions in this article to uninstall the current version of your Act-On package.
  4. Once you have uninstalled successfully, you can proceed to installation.

Uninstall Act-On CRM Portal for MS Dynamics (all versions)

This is the legacy version of our MS Dynamics solution and is an unmanaged solution in Dynamics.

You must use the MS Dynamics Sales Seat Installer tool to uninstall the old solution. Technical Support can provide you with this file.

Do not attempt to remove the solution directly from Dynamics, as this can cause significant issues that prevent the use of our new, managed solution.

Prerequisites

  • MS Dynamics System Administrator privileges
  • Microsoft Windows operating system
  • Act-On MS Dynamics Tool (.zip) - Request the Download here

Steps to uninstall Act-On CRM Portal for MS Dynamics

  1. Extract and open our MS Dynamics Tool (Support will provide this to you).
  2. Next, in Manage Connections, click on Dynamics.
  3. Select your MS Dynamics Version.
  4. Enter the URL for your instance.
  5. Enter the Username and Password for your Dynamics account System Administrator.
  6. Click Connect.
  7. Next, in Manage Package, click Uninstall.

Once the package has been removed, you may proceed to install the new package for MS Dynamics.

The Act-On CRM Portal for Dynamics is an unmanaged solution. This may result in some components being left behind when removal is completed. Dynamics Administrators may need to manually remove components that remain. If you need help you can contact our Technical Support team.

Uninstall Act-On Marketing Platform for MS Dynamics and Ribbon Patch (all versions)

Uninstall (365)

To uninstall Act-On Marketing Platform for MS Dynamics and/or Act-On Marketing 365 Ribbon Patch, in your MS Dynamics account, a System Administrator must follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your MS Dynamics account.
  2. Navigate to Settings > Solutions and select Act-On Marketing 365 Ribbon Patch.
  3. Click Delete.
  4. In the pop-up window, follow the prompts to uninstall. This may take a while.

Repeat this process for Act-On Marketing Platform for MS Dynamics.

Uninstall (2016, 2015, and 2013)

To uninstall Act-On Marketing Platform for MS Dynamics, a System Administrator must follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your MS Dynamics account.
  2. Navigate to Settings > Solutions and select Act-On Marketing 365 Ribbon Patch.
  3. Click Delete.
  4. In the pop-up window, follow the prompts to uninstall. This may take a while.
