Delete a Segment

If you no longer need a segment, you can permanently delete it from your account. This is helpful for removing test segments, outdated campaigns, or duplicate audiences.

  • Only delete segments you’re confident are no longer needed
  • You cannot delete system-generated segments (e.g. Opt-Outs, Hard Bounces)
  • Deleted segments cannot be recovered

Delete a Segment

  1. Go to Audience Center > All Contacts > Segments.
  2. Hover over the segment you want to delete and click ⋯ More.
  3. Select Delete.
  4. Confirm that you want to permanently delete the segment.
This action cannot be undone. Make sure the segment is not being used in messages, programs, or scoring before deleting.
You cannot delete system-generated segments like Opt-Outs, Hard Bounces, or Spam Complaints. These are built-in and used for deliverability protection.

Delete Multiple Segments

  1. Select the checkboxes next to the segments you want to delete.
  2. Click Delete in the toolbar at the top of the segment list.
  3. Confirm deletion when prompted.

Tips

  • Delete segments that were only used for one-off tests or old campaigns
  • Before deleting, check the Activity tab to see if it’s still in use
  • Use folders to organize and minimize clutter without deleting
