Act-On Analytics: Spot IQ Analysis

  • Updated

Spot IQ uses AI to find insights in your Analytics data: trends, correlations, explanations for increases or decreases, and outliers. You run it against a specific Answer or a specific data point in a chart, and Spot IQ returns a set of analysis tiles you can save, pin to a Liveboard, share, or schedule.

Who does this: Act-On users with Dynamic Business Analytics or Premium AI Analytics
Time needed: 2 to 5 minutes to kick off an analysis, plus time to review
Why this matters: Noticing that a chart has moved is the easy part. Spot IQ answers the "why" by auto-generating breakdowns, comparisons, and correlations you'd otherwise build by hand. It's how you get from "open rate dropped this week" to "it dropped mostly for a specific subscription category" without stepping through every slice manually.
Quick Reference (Advanced Users) - Click to Expand
  • Run on a data point: right-click in any Answer visualisation and choose SpotIQ analyze.
  • Run on an Answer: ellipsis on the tile > SpotIQ analyze.
  • Results expire after 24 hours unless saved.
  • Each result tile is itself an Answer: Make a copy to save, or Pin to a Liveboard.
  • Jump to: Run an analysis | Work with results | Customise | Schedule | Spot IQ tab options.
Try it like this: Open your Email Performance Liveboard. In the Click Rate chart, right-click the point with the biggest week-over-week change and choose SpotIQ analyze > Why. Spot IQ returns a set of breakdowns for that point. Click Save insights to keep them before the 24-hour expiry.
