FTP Exports from Act-On Contacts

Updating contact data to an external system is simple with a scheduled FTP export. You can automate recurring outbound data transfers from Audience Center to your FTP server.

  • Start exports from a segment in Audience Center.
  • Select an existing file on your FTP server or create a new one.
  • Set an export schedule and file format preferences.
  • Choose which fields to include in the export file.
  • Exports can run immediately or at the next scheduled time.

Choose a Segment to Export

  1. Go to Audience Center > All Contacts.
  2. Choose the segment containing the contacts you want to export. To export your entire database, select the All Act-On Contacts segment.
  3. Hover over the segment and open the menu. Select Export.
  4. Select Start a new FTP export and click Next.

  1. Choose a file from your FTP server to receive the exported data, or select Export to a new file to generate a new file on the FTP server.

6. Set your export schedule to determine when the file should be written.

7. Choose file format settings such as field names on the first line, field separation, and field value quotation style.

8. Select which contact fields should be included in the export file.

9. Review the export configuration to confirm all settings.

10. Click Save, then choose Export now to generate the file immediately or Export later to wait for the scheduled export time.

Tip: If your Act-On account syncs with a supported CRM, score fields update automatically during CRM sync. If you do not sync to a CRM, use a List Maintenance program to update score fields daily.

Managing Your FTP Export

Segments with an active FTP export display a sync icon and show export details in the segment info hovercard. To edit export settings, open the segment’s menu, select Export, choose Manage FTP export, and click Next.

From this screen, you can update the export definition. To delete it entirely, open the menu at the top of the export settings page and choose to remove the sync definition.
