Act-On Analytics: Segment Name Available for Email Reporting

  • Updated

What's Changing

We've added the Segment Name field to the email data available for reporting in Analytics. This lets users drill down into message performance per list or segment.

At the top of the Email Performance liveboard, you'll see a new filter for the Segment name. Use this filter to narrow down your results to emails sent to a particular target segment or list.

You can also "Drill down" to look at segment comparisons. For example, if you're looking at the Email Performance liveboard, you could drill down on a data point to see how it breaks out by list or segment:

For Advanced Analytics subscribers, you can ask for data broken down "by segment" when querying via the answer bar on your analytics home page, or you can add a Segment Name field when using Data Search.

Advanced Analytics users can also use the 'Ask any question' bar to get information about performance per segment. In the example below, we're looking to compare the Click to Open rate for our recent messages by the list or segment that the message targeted:

You may also want to add the Segment Name as a filter on any custom liveboards:

We've also published an example of an Answer that uses the Segment Name. Look for "Email Performance by Segment (Last 30 days)" on the Answers list.

When

The changes were released on November 13, 2024.

Customer Impact

Customers will not see an impact on existing liveboards or answers but can choose to apply the new field as a filter or drill-down criteria.
