BETA: Advanced Segmentation in Audience Center

Act-On’s new beta segmentation experience in Audience Center lets you build powerful, targeted contact segments in two ways: Query Segments for dynamic, rule-based targeting, and Direct Select Segments for manually chosen, static contact groups.

What’s Changing

The new segmentation engine delivers faster, more accurate performance and a modern, streamlined workflow.

  • Streaming upkeep for near-real-time segment accuracy
  • Immediate email sends (no pre-send refresh waiting)
  • Modern, easy-to-use UI purpose-built for complex logic
  • Groups & Subgroups cleanly mix AND/OR for complex Boolean expressions
  • Linked Rows ensure multiple conditions match the same related record in 1-to-many relationships
  • Multiple data types target by profile details, tracked behaviors, lead scores, opt-in preferences, or synced CRM data
  • Expanded date comparisons filter by day/week/month rollups, specific dates, and relative ranges
  • Custom Data support bring in supplemental data via Custom Data APIs (e.g., purchases, products owned, external events, claims, cases) and segment on it
  • Direct Select Segments faster building, including selecting from existing segments
Creating and using Groups/Subgroups and Linked Rows in the new segmentation UI
Create complex logic with Groups/Subgroups and ensure record-level consistency with Linked Rows.

When

The segmentation beta began in Q2 2025. We’re now expanding the beta to include the new UI and support for Custom Data.
