Tracking Form Views with Google Analytics

  • Updated

You may wish to track views of a Form using external web analytics such as Google Analytics. Collecting this data with GA will depend on what kind of Act-On Form you are using as well as how you have deployed the Form on the web. Continue reading to learn how to set up Google Analytics to track your Form views.

New Forms

Act-On's New Forms are deployed with a javascript code or on an Act-On Landing Page. Because of this, Google Analytics must be added to the page that the Form is embedded on.

Embedded on your website

If your New Form is embedded on your website, you should ask your web administrator who is responsible for the page and/or site to assist. Most websites will have Google Analytics deployed along with a cookie manager, such as Google Tag Manager, which may already be present on the page and tracking views.

Act-On Landing Page

To add Google Analytics to a Landing Page that hosts your Form:

  1. Click Content > Landing Pages and open the Landing Page that hosts the Form.
  2. Navigate to the Design tab.
  3. Click the icon to edit Javascript on the right side of the screen: mceclip0.png
