Removing Contacts from Wait Steps Manually

Sometimes a contact ends up in an Automated Program you don't want them in. A Wait step lets you pause that contact from moving forward, and from there you can remove them from the Program manually. Once removed, the contact exits the program immediately.

Why this matters: Without a way to pull a contact out manually, they'd keep moving through every remaining step of a program they shouldn't be in - continuing to receive messages that don't apply to them.

Remove a contact from a Wait step

  1. Click Automation > Automated Programs.
  2. Find the program that you need to remove a contact from, hover over it, and then click Show dashboard:

  1. In Report > Steps, find the wait step the contacts are in, and click the number of waiting contacts, here:

  1. Locate the line for the contact you need to delete and on the right, click Exit Contact:
