- Refer to this guide on interpreting the report.
Data Studio
Data Studio allows for the most comprehensive and flexible reporting as well as an export system to download reports locally or export them to other cloud services. To create a Data Studio Export:
- In Act-On, navigate to Reports > Data Studio.
- On the “Exports” screen, you will be prompted to “Click HERE to create your first Export.” Please do so.
- Under the “General” tab, give the export an appropriate name.
-
Under the “Data Set” tab, make sure that “Email Messages” is selected from the drop-down menu. Select all actions to include in the report.
- You also can select specific Automated Programs as an inclusive filter. This will only include messages sent from specific programs in your export.
- Under the “Grouping” tab, select “Aggregated rolled up data grouped by (one or more fields):” and select all data points you seek to include in the report. Three that are recommended are “Action Day,” “Automated Program,” and “Message.”
- Under the “Fields” tab, add all available fields you wish to include in the export. Click on “Generate as unique metrics” to ensure that data is counted uniquely, e.g., if one contact opens the same email multiple times; the report will consider that a single open.
- Under the “Filters” tab, add whichever filters you desire. By default, none are added.
- Under the “Schedule” tab, schedule the export if you desire. If left on the default “On Demand” option, the export must be run manually.
- Under the “Delivery” tab, choose the export method of the data.
FAQs and Troubleshooting
Why isn't my program message appearing under triggered program messages?
Messages that are in the triggered messages listing are only the ones that are actively associated with an Automated Program in the account. There are a few common actions that lead to messages disappearing from this listing.
- If an email message was replaced in a program with a different message. This is because the old message is no longer "linked" to the automated program.
- If a program is deleted, the messages will no longer be associated with the program.
Fear not! These messages can still be found by looking in the 'Other Tab' in the triggered messages menu.
