Common Questions and Issues
Formatting Differences in Test Messages
Some email clients may render your message HTML differently. If you're seeing formatting issues that weren't present in the Design or Review tabs of the email composer, we recommend clicking the "View in browser" link in your test message and seeing if those issues still occur. If the message looks correct in your browser, then the formatting issues are likely caused by the email client. Microsoft Outlook in particular has several common rendering issues that you may need to solve in your message design.
Issues Receiving Test Messages
If your test emails are going to the Spam or Junk folder, make sure you have whitelisted Act-On's IP addresses.
If you think the emails are bouncing, you can check the reports for your test messages by going to Outbound > Test Messages, hovering over the desired test-send, and click Report. If the message was not received due to fatigue rules, the test contact having opted out, etc., this will be listed in the Not Sent/Suppressed section.
Note: Test messages that are untouched after 90 days will automatically be deleted from the account. This means that the message report will be inaccessible and any message links will no longer be functional.
