Add Images to Emails - Legacy Composer

  • Updated

Incorporate button images, social media icons, and header or banner graphics into your email messages to make them more visually engaging.

Images can be added using either an Image block or a Rich Text block. The Image block gives you quick access to your Image Library and lets you insert an image with optional text and a link. Rich Text blocks allow you to place images within text or tables alongside other content.

Quick Reference (Advanced Users) - Click to Expand
  • Use an Image block for simple banner, logo, or button images (especially for Outlook).
  • Use a Rich Text block to place images inline with text or inside tables.
  • Always set Alt text, Target URL (if clickable), and appropriate alignment.
  • For Outlook, set Image block alignment to fit-block to help avoid layout issues.
  • Resize and fine-tune styling in the Rich Text image settings when you need more control.
Try it like this: Add a header graphic with an Image block at the top of your email, then use Rich Text blocks for smaller social media icons aligned under your signature.

When to Use Rich Text Blocks

Rich Text blocks give you access to the source code for your image, so you can customize it further by editing the HTML. Use this with care, as incorrect HTML can cause rendering issues in some email clients.

Rich Text blocks are also a good choice if you prefer not to edit HTML. You can style images directly in the settings:

  • General
    • Modify the size of the image.
  • Advanced
    • Add CSS styling in the Style box.
    • Add horizontal and vertical space.
    • Adjust border width and style.
