Create unique links in your legacy emails that use Personalization Fields. Common use cases for personalized URLs include:
- Sending a customer a package tracker
- Sharing a link to a digital gift card
- Linking to an account owner's profile
Tip! For more complex use cases or if using many personalized links, consider using Dynamic Content.

A marketing list or segment with a field that contains URL values
- If you need to upload a new list or add a field, see Creating a Marketing List.

A redirect link for broken personalized URLs
- Go to Settings > Other Settings > Custom Account Settings > Account Redirects. Set the Broken Personalized Link Redirect to a fallback page.
- Go to Settings > Other Settings > Custom Account Settings > Account Redirects. Set the Broken Personalized Link Redirect to a fallback page.
Method 1: Add to Text Link
- Open an existing draft or create a new message using Blank Message.
- In the Address tab, add your recipient list or segment with URL values.
- In the Design tab, edit a Rich Text Block:
- If editing an existing block, hover and click the pencil icon.
- If using a blank message, drag a Rich Text Block into the body.
- If editing an existing block, hover and click the pencil icon.
- Highlight the link text and click the Link button.
- In the Insert/Edit Link popup, enter your personalization field in the URL box using double brackets, like
{{YourURLField}}.
Method 2: Add to Button
- In the Design tab, open or drag a Rich Text Block into your email.
- Click the Bulletproof Button icon.
- In the popup, add your personalization field in the URL field using double brackets:
{{YourURLField}}.
Personalization field names must exactly match your list's column headers.
Preview & Test
Use the Review tab and select a contact in the Sample Preview dropdown. Hover over the link or button to check the personalized URL.
