Small Update to Internal Email Robot Tracker

  • Updated

What's Changing

An additional email robot check that had been ignored, and had potentially skewed some open/click rates on emails, has been added back.

Background

Part of Act-On's email performance monitoring involves tracking email robots and removing their open and click activity from reports to not interfere with actual human activity data. An email robot, commonly referred to as a "bot," acts as a spam filter, preventing spam emails from landing in mail servers by auto-clicking the links in incoming emails. During a review, it was discovered that a robot check was being ignored, potentially allowing some bot opens and clicks to be included in email activity data.

When

February 1, 2023.

Customer Impact

Clicks rates in the Messages report may be slightly impacted since possible bot clicks are now being ignored.

What's Next

No action is needed - this check runs automatically as part of Act-On's ongoing bot filtering.
