Sugar CRM Integration Upgrade - Opt-Out Sync: Released

Accounts connected to Sugar CRM can now keep contact opt-out status in sync in both directions, so an unsubscribe in one system shows up correctly in the other.

Why this matters: Mismatched opt-out status between your CRM and Act-On risks emailing someone who's already unsubscribed, or missing a re-subscribe. Two-way sync keeps compliance and CRM data consistent without manual reconciliation.

  • When Push Opt-Out to CRM is enabled, the following data updates can be expected:

    • A contact's opt-out state is updated to True in SugarCRM when the contact unsubscribes to marketing email communications sent by Act-On

    • The opt-out state is updated to False in SugarCRM when a previously opted-out contact re-subscribes to marketing email communications sent by Act-On

  • When Pull Opt-Out from CRM is enabled, the following data updates can be expected:

    • A contact is unsubscribed from marketing email communications sent by Act-On when the contact opt-out value in the CRM is set to Opted Out = True
