Send New Contacts to Your Connected CRM

  • Updated

Control when & which new leads you push to your connected CRM as they are added to the Act-On Contacts list. When using a natively integrated CRM such as SalesForce, Sugar, NetSuite, Dynamics, or ZenDesk, any new leads added to the Act-On Contacts list are not automatically pushed to the CRM, regardless of the "push policy" on the Data Management screen.

Pushing All New Contacts with an Automated Program

If you do want to automatically push all new contacts to your CRM, you can set up an Automated Program to do so. Here's how:

  1. Create a segment of contacts in Act-On Contacts that are not already in the CRM. The easiest way to do this is based on the ObjectType field being empty, as ObjectType is typically a CRM-generated field that identifies leads, contacts, targets, etc.

  1. Create a new Automated Program, using your new segment above as the program source.
  2. Use the Create in CRM step to send these contacts to your CRM. You'll choose whether to create as leads, contacts, targets, etc. (options vary per CRM) and how you want to handle existing contact updates. For more details on this step per CRM, click here.

Pushing Contacts When They Reach a Qualified Lead Score

Many marketers prefer to wait until a new lead has been nurtured and reached a qualified lead score status before pushing to their CRM. In this case, follow the steps above, but add the lead score criteria to your segment.

Pushing Contacts Via Form Submission

When contacts submit a Form to Act-On, you can push them to the CRM at this time, creating new leads or contacts and updating existing ones. Learn more about the Form Push to CRM step.
