BETA: True Open and Saved Groups in Segmentation 2.0

  • Updated

Act-On’s new beta segmentation in Audience Center helps you create contact segments more quickly, with improved accuracy and a simplified workflow.

This update introduces True Open filters and reusable segment saved groups to help you build more accurate, consistent contact segments.

What's Changing

Two new features have been added to the Segmentation 2.0 beta.

True Open filters in segmentation

When you're trying to find your engaged contacts - those who've opened or clicked on an email - you want to be sure they are real people, not bots or security systems. Act-On’s True Open uses machine learning to analyze email opens and clicks, scoring each activity by its likelihood of being generated by a person or a system.

In Segmentation 2.0, you can choose to exclude email open and click activity classified as security system, privacy system, or person. This means if a contact has only security system opens and clicks, you can keep them out of your "highly engaged" segments. This gives you more control over who is enrolled in nurturing programs, or who is sent to your CRM for sales follow-up.

Saved Groups help build consistent segments

Segment saved groups let you save groups of criteria and apply them to new segments, helping you work more consistently. Many users create saved groups for important deliverability or suppression factors.  You can insert multiple individual saved groups to build a segment.  With Segmentation 2.0, you can add descriptions to saved groups, preview their criteria, and search or filter by tag to organize them.

When

These features were added to the Segmentation beta on September 11, 2025.

Customer Impact

These features are available in beta for customers who sign up for access. After you sign up, we’ll review your current segments for eligibility. Segmentation 2.0 works with Audience Center contacts only.
