Removing a Contact from the Hard Bounces List

  • Updated

A hard bounce is an email that was sent to the specified address but was returned as a terminal or permanent failure. A hard bounce can happen if the domain does not exist or the intended recipient no longer works for the company. All of your hard bounces are automatically stored in your Hard Bounces list. Any email messages sent to these hard bounce addresses will be suppressed unless you remove them from the list.

To remove an address from the hard bounce list:

  1. Click Contacts, and then click Other Lists, followed by selecting Bounces & Opt-Outs
  2. Hover over the Hard Bounces List title, and click Open.
  3. If necessary, use the search option at the top of the page to locate the email address you're looking for.
  4. Once the address has been located use the icon to the left of the address to move it from the Hard Bounces list to your Soft Bounces list.

If you need to remove a batch of contacts from the Hard Bounces list, upload those contacts into the Soft Bounces list. The next time you send a message to those contacts, they will be removed from the Soft Bounces list altogether.
