Email Message Drafts

  • Updated

The Email Composer automatically saves your work as a draft in Outbound › Drafts. You can return to any draft to finish editing, send it, or save it as a reusable template for future campaigns.

Quick Reference (Advanced Users) - Click to Expand
  • Access: Go to Outbound › Drafts to open and manage your saved messages.
  • Auto-Save: Changes save automatically once you set an Internal Email Title.
  • Folders: Move drafts to organized folders from the Drafts page.
  • Reuse: Save a finished draft as a Template to use again later.
Try it like this: Start a new message, give it an internal title, then pause partway through your design. Your progress automatically saves to Outbound › Drafts - reopen it later to complete and send.

Auto-Save in the Email Composer

Once you’ve added an Internal Email Title in the Email Composer, your changes save automatically. You’ll see a saved status indicator in the top-right corner of the composer window.

View and Manage Drafts

All automatically saved messages appear in your Outbound › Drafts list. From here, you can:

  • Click a draft title to open it in the Email Composer and continue editing.
  • Use the folder menu to move drafts into organized folders.
  • Delete drafts you no longer need to keep your workspace tidy.

Save a Draft as a Template

If you’ve created an email you’d like to reuse, you can save the draft as a template:

  1. Open the draft in the Email Composer.
  2. Click the menu icon in the upper toolbar and select Save As › Template.
  3. Name your new template and choose the appropriate folder.

Your draft remains in Outbound › Drafts, and a new reusable template is added to Content › Email Templates.

Best Practices

  • Always name your draft with an internal title before closing the composer to ensure it saves correctly.
  • Use folders to group drafts by campaign or department for easier tracking.
  • Review the Last Modified date on each draft to find your most recent version.
