Export Audience Center Contact Data to a CSV

You can export your contact data from All Contacts at any time to review, back up, or analyze your data outside Act-On. Exports are available at the All Contacts level, at the segment level, or for a selected set of individual contacts.

  • All Contacts export: Export the entire database from the “All Act-On Contacts” segment.
  • Segment export: Hover a segment → More actions → Export.
  • Selected contacts: Check contacts → use the blue bar’s Export icon.
  • Exports download as CSV files to your browser’s default download location.
Try it like this: Before cleaning up old data, export the “All Act-On Contacts” segment to create a backup file. You can then filter or audit the CSV in Excel or Google Sheets.

Instructions

User permissions: If your Export options are disabled, your Act-On administrator may need to update your permissions.

Export All Contacts

  1. Go to Audience Center → All Contacts.
  2. Locate the segment titled All Act-On Contacts.
  3. Hover over the row and click on the three dots More actions.
  4. Select Export.
  5. Your CSV file will download to your browser’s default location (usually the Downloads folder).

Export a Segment

  1. Go to Audience Center → All Contacts.
  2. Find the segment you want.
  3. Hover over the row and click More actions.
  4. Select Export.
  5. Your CSV file will download to your browser’s default location.

Export Individual Contacts

  1. Open the Contact Listing page (the contact list view inside any segment).
  2. Use the checkboxes on the left to select one or more contacts.
  3. In the blue bar at the top, click the Export icon.
  4. Your CSV file will download to your browser’s default location.
