How to Reset Your Password

  • Updated

You can change your Act-On password at any time or reset it if you cannot remember it. This article covers both options and explains what to do if your account uses Single Sign-On (SSO).

Do you use SSO? If your organization uses SSO to access Act-On, your password is managed by your IT team. Act-On Support cannot reset SSO-managed passwords.

FAQs & Troubleshooting

I did not receive the password reset email

First, check all folders in your inbox, including spam or junk. If the message is not there, contact Act-On Support. Your IT team may need to adjust filtering rules to allow email from Act-On. More information: Allow Network Traffic from Act-On IPs and Domains.

I received a “401 Unauthorized” error

401 error

A 401 error can happen for several reasons:

  • Outdated or bookmarked login URLs. Use the main login page: Click here.

In 2021, Act-On account host URLs changed. Since URLs can change again, do not bookmark Act-On after logging in.
  • Browser cache or cookies need to be cleared. Clear your browser data, then use the main login page again.
  • Your account uses SSO or SAML. For SSO-connected accounts, contact your IT administrator. Act-On does not manage passwords for SSO users.
