Resetting the Salesforce Security Token

  • Updated

A security token must be added to the end of your Salesforce password to sign in from an untrusted network. For example, if your password is 'mypassword' and your security token is '1234567890', then you must enter 'mypassword1234567890' to sign in. Security tokens are required when you log in via the Act-On connector.

To reset your security token:

  1. When signed in to Salesforce, at the top right, click Your Name > My Settings > Personal > Reset My Security Token.
  2. Click the Reset Security Token button.
  3. The new security token will be sent via email to the address on your Salesforce user record.
If you have never been offered a security token because your organization restricts the IP addresses from which you can log in, the Reset Security Token node will not appear in Setup.
