This feature set allows Salesforce users to send emails to leads and contacts using Act-On’s email servers and tracking capabilities. This component is a button that creates a pop-up window to the Act-On message composer. You can also grant your Sales users access to email templates so they can send your professionally designed messages.
There are two components that enable sending Act-On Emails to Leads and Contacts:

Page Layout Button

This button appears on Contact and Lead profile pages so a sales user can email the contact via Act-On. |
To use, click on the button and a pop-up for the Act-On Message Composer will appear. |
List Search Layout Button

This button appears on Contact and Lead search pages so a sales user can email up to 200 Leads or Contacts.

To use, select at least one lead/contact and click the Send Act-On Email button. A pop-up for the Act-On Message Composer will appear. |
User Requirements
To use this feature, sales users must have:
- An active connection to Salesforce
- Act-On package installed in Salesforce, with the most current version
- The users must be registered in Act-On to use the feature
- Email templates enabled, if desired
- All Sales Users should review our recommended browser settings for our CRM Integration users, such as having their pop-up blocker disabled
Installation
Prerequisites
- An active connection to Salesforce
- Act-On package installed to the most current version
- Salesforce administrator credentials
Lead and Contact Page Layouts
These instructions apply to both Salesforce Classic and Lightning.
- Navigate to Page Layout setup.
- In Classic, go to Setup > Build > Customize > Leads > Page Layouts
- In Lightning, go to Setup > Quick Find > Object Manager > Lead > Page Layouts
- Select the layout you wish to add the component to and Edit
- In the top console, navigate to Buttons
- Drag and drop the Send Act-On Email button over to Lead Detail Custom Buttons.
- Note: There are two versions of this button for each layout. Hover over each button to see the API Name. Use the ActOn__Send_Act_On_Email button for both Leads and Contacts.
- In the top console, navigate to Mobile & Lightning Actions
- Drag and drop the Send Act-On Email button over to Salesforce Mobile and Lightning Experience Actions.
- Click Save at the top console.
- Repeat steps 1-7 for Contact > Page Layouts.
- Have a Sales user test the buttons (pop-ups must be disabled)
Note: Do not use the Visualforce Page for "Send ActOn Email". This is not intended for page installation. It will cause problems for users if installed.

Lead and Contact Search Layouts
These instructions apply to both Salesforce Classic and Lightning.
- Navigate to Search Layout setup.
- In Classic, go to Setup > Build > Customize > Lead > Search Layouts
- In Lightning, go to Setup > Quick Find > Object Manager > Lead > Search Layouts for Salesforce Classic
- Find the List View (Classic) or List View (Lightning) and click on Edit
- In Custom Buttons look in the Available Buttons area and click on Send Act-On Email.

Click Add.
- Click Save at the bottom of the page.
- Repeat steps 1-5 for Contact > Search Layouts.
- Have a Sales user test the button (pop-ups must be disabled).
