Act-On Anywhere for Gmail Installation

You can be up and running with Act-On Anywhere in less than a minute!

If you are using an older version of our Chrome extension, please remove it before installing Act-On Anywhere.
  1. Visit chrome://extensions/ from your Chrome browser.
  2. Locate the Act-On Software Google Chrome Extension for Gmail and click the trash can icon to remove the extension from Chrome.
  3. Once removed, you can proceed with the Act-On Anywhere installation as detailed below.

Installation

  1. Go to the Google Chrome Web Store from your Chrome browser with the following link: https://chrome.google.com/webstore
  2. Search for "Act-On Anywhere".
  3. Find the Act-On Anywhere extension, open it & click the blue Add to Chrome button (upper right). Confirm when prompted. 
  4. Act-On Anywhere is added to Google Chrome & you are redirected to the Account Management Dashboard. Click the + Account button, enter your Act-On user Email address & Password, & click Save:

Clicking the + Account button, enter your Act-On user Email address & Password, & click Save.

To create a unique login/password for each of your child accounts, contact support.

After Act-On Anywhere is installed, you are brought to the Account Management Dashboard, where you can manage both your associate accounts and websites.

  1. Click the + Account button and enter the Act-On user's Email address & Password.
  2. Click Save. Once the account is authenticated, you will see the name appear under Account Email:

Edit an Account

  1. Click under Edit to modify the account.
  2. Edit the account's Email address & Password & click Save.

Delete an Account

  1. Click the X under Delete to remove the account.
  2. Click OK in the confirmation window.
  1. In the Account Management Dashboard, click the Websites tab.
  2. Click the + Website button & specify the top-level website URL.
  3. Select Timeline & Content Assist.
  4. Click Save:

Edit an Associated Website

  1. Click under Edit to modify the website.
  2. Enter a new Website URL, enable/disable the Timeline & Content Assist as required, & click Save.

Delete an Associated Website

  1. Click the X under Delete to remove the website.
  2. Click OK in the confirmation window.

Modify Available Features

To modify the Timeline & Content Assist features, click the icon to enable or disable the feature.

  • Green Icon = enabled
  • Grey Icon = disabled

After Act-On Anywhere is installed, there should be a new Act-On icon to the right of your browser bar in Google Chrome.

If not, go to (top right) > Extensions > Manage Extensions > Act-On Anywhere > Details > Pin to toolbar (toggle on).

Click this icon for Act-On Anywhere options:

  • Content Assist - To enable Content Assist for the page you are on, click the check mark. This will automatically add the website to your Manage Websites list.
  • Overlay Position - Determines the placement of the Content Assist icon within your rich text editor.
  • Timeline - To enable the marketing timeline for the page you are on, click the check mark.
  • Show Timeline - Click to show the marketing timeline for the page you are on.
  • SEO Audit Page - Click to run an SEO audit for the webpage you are on.
  • Options - Opens the Account Management Dashboard.

After installation, in Act-On, select the image/media folders you would like to enable for use with Act-On Anywhere.

  1. Go to Content > Email Templates / Image Library / Media Library.
  2. For Email Templates or Image Library:
    • Above the folder list (on the left), click
    • Click the toggle to the right of the folder(s) you want to enable.
  3. For Media Library:
    • On the left, hover over the folders in your Media Library, then click Manage near the top of the screen.
    • Check the Show for Sales box for the folder(s) you want to enable.

Those folders are now Sales Enabled and accessible within Act-On Anywhere.
