Your landing page title is only used within Act-On, so make sure it's descriptive enough so you can easily locate it among your other landing pages. This is especially important if you plan on creating multiple variations of your landing pages for testing and optimizing.
With the Status section you can decide the visibility of your landing page to the public with the flip of a switch. When the landing page is disabled, visitors will be sent to your selected Redirect URL.
The Redirect URL can be set for a landing page using either the Global URL, an Individual Redirect URL or selecting an existing landing page in Act-On.
The Global URL is the default URL that a landing page will redirect to if another option is not set. To set up the Global URL go to Settings > Other Settings > Custom Account Settings.
The Individual Redirect URL option allows you to type in any URL that you would like to redirect to.
The Landing Page Redirect will allow you to select an existing landing page in Act-On.
The Displayed URL is the URL that will be shown in the browser's address bar. You can easily create new public URLs for enhanced SEO and sharability. See this page for more information.
The Page Title and Page Description meta tags can be used to control how this landing page appears in search engine results. If you have defined keywords, we can help you set up your meta tags to get this landing page ranked higher in search engine results for these chosen keyword phrases.
After you have entered your Page Title and Page Description meta tags, Act-On will automatically assign a URL Page Name based on your Page Title. If you wish to use something instead of your page title, you will want to enter the URL Page Name first. Once your SEO information is added you can view a preview of how your page may look in search results.
Don't want your landing page to appear in search results? From the Properties tab, you can select to have your page indexed or de-indexed by clicking the magnifying glass icon.
If you are designing landing pages for a PPC campaign or a welcome/thank you page, for example, you should consider de-indexing your pages so they don't appear in search engines.
To perform an SEO Audit on your landing page:
- Navigate to the Properties tab and click the Graph Icon on the right-hand side:
- Select or add keywords to audit and click Save Keyword Selection. Your audit report will generate.
- Make edits to your page based on the suggestions and re-audit your page.
- Continue this for each keyword or phrase you are targeting.
Keep in mind that understanding your keywords is very important for the audit. A keyword is a word (or phrase) you want searchers to find your page for. You can perform research in Google and elsewhere to understand the terms that your customers are using - then you can optimize for these terms in Act-On.
Open Graph Image
When it comes time to share your landing page via social media, the Open Graph Image will allow you to set the image that appears alongside your link, title, and description, providing some control over the consistency of your image - regardless of who shares your link.
To set an Open Graph Image for your landing page:
- Navigate to the Properties tab.
- Under Open Graph Image, click Select Image.
- Choose an image from your Media Library and click Submit.
- Click Save.
Per Facebook, you will want to use images that are at least 1200x630 pixels for optimal display on high resolution devices. You images should be at least 600x315 pixels to display as a large image. Any images smaller than 600x315 pixels will display as a thumbnail.
